Yay! Peach Corp is going teal this September to celebrate Sexual Health Awareness, Ovarian Cancer Awareness, Pain Awareness, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Prostate Cancer Awareness , Newborn Screening Awareness , National Yoga Awareness  Month!

This September, Peach Corp is going teal in honor of Sexual Health Awareness Month! As we shine a light on the importance of sexual health, we’re focusing on conditions that affect countless individuals every day—Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. PCOS), and Adenomyosis.

Understanding these conditions is key to promoting better sexual health and well-being. Let’s explore how these chronic conditions intersect with sexual health and why this month is so important for raising awareness and supporting those affected

Why Teal Matters: Raising Awareness for PCOS, Endometriosis, and Adenomyosis

Teal is the color of awareness for several gynecological conditions, including Sexual Health and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). By “going teal” this month, we’re dedicating ourselves to spreading awareness, providing education, and offering support to those living with these often-misunderstood conditions, including endometriosis and adenomyosis.

1. Endometriosis and Sexual Health

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it, leading to severe pain, heavy periods, and fertility issues. Beyond the physical symptoms, endometriosis can have a profound impact on sexual health:

  • Pain During Intimacy: Many individuals with endometriosis experience pain during or after sexual activity, which can affect their relationships and emotional well-being.
  • Fertility Concerns: Endometriosis is a leading cause of infertility, which can bring additional emotional and psychological stress.

2. PCOS and Sexual Health

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects up to 10% of women of reproductive age. This hormonal disorder is characterized by irregular periods, excess androgen levels, and polycystic ovaries. The impact of PCOS on sexual health can include:

  • Hormonal Imbalances: These can lead to decreased libido, mood swings, and other symptoms that affect sexual desire and intimacy.
  • Body Image and Self-Esteem: Many individuals with PCOS struggle with body image issues due to symptoms like weight gain, acne, or excess hair growth, which can affect their sexual confidence.

3. Adenomyosis and Sexual Health

Adenomyosis occurs when the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus, causing heavy, painful periods and pelvic pain. The impact of adenomyosis on sexual health includes:

  • Chronic Pain: Similar to endometriosis, adenomyosis can cause pain during sexual activity, impacting intimacy and overall quality of life.
  • Emotional and Psychological Stress: Living with a chronic condition like adenomyosis can take a toll on mental health, affecting both sexual and emotional well-being.

How We’re Taking Action This Month
