Peach Corp is raising awareness this October about the link between breast cancer and conditions like Endometriosis...
This October, Peach Corp is going pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! As we highlight the importance of early detection and support for breast cancer, we’re also focusing on how it intersects with chronic gynecological conditions like Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and Adenomyosis.
Breast cancer awareness is crucial for all women, but those with endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis may face unique health challenges. Understanding these connections can empower women to take charge of their health, and this month, we’re here to provide education, support, and advocacy.
The Link Between Breast Cancer, Endometriosis, PCOS, and Adenomyosis
Though each condition is different, research shows that women with chronic gynecological conditions may have an increased risk of developing breast cancer or other reproductive-related cancers(1). Here’s how each condition ties into breast cancer awareness:
1. Endometriosis and Breast Cancer
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. A few studies suggest that women with endometriosis may have a slightly higher risk of developing breast cancer. The underlying hormonal imbalances and prolonged estrogen exposure may play a role in this increased risk.
What You Can Do:
2. PCOS and Breast Cancer
PCOS is a hormonal disorder that affects up to 10% of women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS often have higher levels of androgens (male hormones) and insulin resistance, both of which may contribute to an increased risk of developing breast cancer over time due to hormonal imbalances(2,3).
What You Can Do:
3. Adenomyosis and Breast Cancer
Adenomyosis occurs when the tissue lining the uterus grows into the uterine wall, causing painful and heavy periods. While research on the direct link between adenomyosis and breast cancer is still ongoing, hormonal imbalances related to adenomyosis may contribute to an increased risk for some women.
What You Can Do:
Dysautonomia and Its Impact on Women’s Health
Dysautonomia, a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system (responsible for controlling things like heart rate and digestion), can overlap with conditions like endometriosis and PCOS. Many women living with chronic gynecological conditions may experience symptoms of dysautonomia, such as dizziness, fainting, or irregular heart rate.
By raising awareness about dysautonomia, we hope to shed light on the often-overlooked connection between reproductive and nervous system health.
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, consult your healthcare provider. By staying informed, you can better manage your health across multiple fronts.
Peach Corp Is Going Pink and Teal: How You Can Help
At Peach Corp, we’re committed to educating and supporting individuals affected by these chronic conditions. This October, by going pink and teal, we’re working to spread awareness about the complex relationship between breast cancer, dysautonomia, and conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis.
Here’s how you can join us this month:
Join Us in Making a Difference
This October let’s take action to protect women’s health and improve their quality of life. Whether you’re raising awareness, scheduling health screenings, or supporting our mission, every effort makes a lasting impact.
