Dear Recipient,

This November, Peach Corp is going blue to support American Diabetes Month and National Healthy Skin Awareness Month, while also running a special event to celebrate Prostate Cancer Awareness! We are excited to announce that on November 10, 2024, Peach Corp will be hosting a Mobile Health Clinic to provide free screenings and educational resources in support of prostate cancer awareness.

As we raise awareness about prostate cancer, diabetes, and skin health, we also want to highlight the ways chronic gynecological conditions such as Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and Adenomyosis are connected to overall health. Understanding these links is crucial for managing your health, particularly when it comes to metabolic, hormonal, and skin-related issues.

Endometriosis, PCOS, Adenomyosis, and Their Impact on Health

1. Endometriosis and Diabetes Risk

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation, pain, and reproductive challenges. There is growing evidence that women with endometriosis are at increased risk of developing insulin resistance and other metabolic issues, which can lead to type 2 diabetes.

What You Can Do:

  • Track Blood Sugar Levels: Regular glucose monitoring is essential for women with endometriosis, especially if other risk factors for diabetes are present.
  • Balanced Diet: A diet rich in whole foods and low in refined sugars can help manage symptoms of both endometriosis and diabetes.

2. PCOS and Insulin Resistance

PCOS is closely linked to insulin resistance and an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Women with PCOS often experience metabolic syndrome, which can include obesity, high blood sugar, and abnormal cholesterol levels(1–3).

What You Can Do:

  • Exercise Regularly: Physical activity improves insulin sensitivity and can help prevent or manage diabetes.
  • Routine Screenings: Make sure to get regular blood sugar and cholesterol tests to monitor any changes early.

3. Adenomyosis and Skin Health

Adenomyosis occurs when the inner lining of the uterus grows into the uterine wall, often causing heavy, painful periods. While adenomyosis doesn’t have a direct link to diabetes, the hormonal imbalances it creates can affect skin health, leading to issues like acne, dryness, or inflammation.

What You Can Do:

  • Hydrate and Protect Your Skin: Regular hydration and a skin care routine tailored to your needs can help manage skin conditions related to hormonal imbalances.
  • Consult with Specialists: Address any skin issues with your healthcare provider, particularly if you have a hormonal condition like adenomyosis.

National Healthy Skin Month: Caring for Your Skin

November is National Healthy Skin Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to focus on the role hormones play in skin health, especially for those managing conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis. Hormonal imbalances can cause breakouts, dryness, or excess oil production, so maintaining a skin care routine that suits your skin’s needs is vital.

Prostate Cancer Awareness: Mobile Clinic on November 10, 2024

In addition to raising awareness for diabetes and skin health, Peach Corp is excited to run a Mobile Clinic on November 10, 2024, in celebration of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Our mobile clinic will offer free screenings and educational resources to encourage early detection and prevention of prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men, and early detection through screenings is key to improving outcomes. We’re proud to offer this vital service to our community.
